BUCKEYES TWINKIE (Twinkie)

2019 Gypsy Cross Gelding

15HH

Twinkie is the definition of special. His unique coloring and long flowing mane give him a perfect picture look, but it is his kind heart, soft eye, and steady mind that makes him truly unforgettable. Twinkie has been on countless trail rides across all kinds of terrain—through creeks, woods, open fields, and even along busy state roads—and he loves every bit of it. He is traffic safe, unbothered by loud or sudden noises, and takes everything in stride. He has three incredibly smooth gaits: a calm, collected walk, a floaty jog you can ride all day, and a beautiful uphill lope that feels like riding a cloud. He picks up both leads easily, has a nice stop, and moves willingly off your leg. He is soft in the bridle but can also be ridden bridle less with ease, and he responds to a light one-hand neck rein. Twinkie will side-pass right up to your mounting block without needing to be asked twice and stands patiently while you get on. He has been ridden Western, English, and bareback and is happy to carry any level of rider with confidence and care. He is as honest as they come—whether you ride him every day or leave him for a week, he steps out the same each time, with a willing attitude and calm demeanor. He is desensitized to tarps, jugs, whips, gunfire, and all the little things that might make a lesser horse nervous. Twinkie is the kind of horse who wants to be your partner and friend—he is always the first to meet you at the gate, loves attention, and has excellent manners in the barn. He stands great in the wash bay, is respectful for the farrier, and loads and unloads from the trailer without hesitation. Twinkie wears shoes on all four feet due to the rocky terrain where we ride, but he has strong, healthy hooves and could easily transition to barefoot if needed. He is up to date on all vaccinations, deworming, and dental work, and he is sound and healthy in every way. Horses like Twinkie do not come around often, he is safe, sane, and truly one of a kind. Whether you are looking for a dependable trail horse, a fun arena partner, or a steady mount for any member of the family, Twinkie is the kind of horse who will give you his whole heart and then some. We cannot say enough good things about this gelding, he is as close to perfect as they come, and he is ready to be someone’s once-in-a-lifetime partner.
