Claudia Ogilvie, 67 years old, has made a living with horses for fifty years.
She logged hundreds of miles in the back country of Montana riding colts and gathering cattle. A few years as a race horse jockey was followed with three years on the All-Girl Rodeo circuit where she won the Bull Riding and Bareback Bronc Riding at Cheyenne's "Mama of 'Em All" in 1976. She was winner of the women's Bareback Bronc Riding at the Miles City Bucking Horse Sale three years on a row.
She married noted horseman, Alex Ogilvie in 1976 and ranched and competed at rodeos with their daughters Skye and Blue. Many years of training and competing at Snaffle Bit Futurities and Barrel Race Futurities followed.
Claudia retired from training barrel horses just last year. At present she enjoys exploring the Black Hills of South Dakota on the back of her hardy Peruvia Paso.
