Wowza! Can you say hello handsome?! Here's the horse you've been dreaming of. Slinky is as eye catching as the day is long whether he's standing still or in motion! Not only that but he is an open book kind of guy who is confident and unassuming all at the same time. His disposition and attitude are hard to come by.
There isn't a day where Slinky hasn't been up to the challenge we put in front of him. Work or play, he is willing to pack anyone in our family around, play a makeshift polo game, track the roping dummy or step over a slew of pool noodles that the kids claim is a ranch obstacle. From the tarp, to the ball, downed logs or stacked tires, he showcases his inquisitive side and willingness to please.
We all enjoy his smooth gaits and easy transitions, and he has just the right amount of responsiveness. He listens well to your seat, neck reins, side passes, plus he has awesome speed transitions. He tries hard to understand what you're asking of him and doesn't try to outthink his rider.
With his size and structure, you can trust he will hold up to a day's work. He is careful about where he puts his feet and knows how to handle himself in slippery spots. Cross the water, go up the steep slops, down the gullies, it won't matter. On the trails he is happy to go in the front of the pack, in the middle or as caboose, anywhere fits him fine.
Tack him up English or Western and you'll enjoy him equally. He has a beautiful extended trot that floats under the hunt saddle but it can come in handy if you decide to take him to a Ranch horse show too. And I would consider him to have a rocking chair lope, it's like Cloud 9!
He is a no nonsense kind of guy who is well rounded in body and mind, Slinky will surely inch his way into your heart, just as he has done with us.
