Miss Hondo 605 (Cholla) is a flashy 4 year old, silver grullo filly out of a Dulces Peppy stud and a Hancock mare. Athletic, agile cowhorse blood on the top and grit, size and bone on the bottom. What more could you ask for?

I have had Cholla since she was a weanling, started her lightly as a two year old and have been riding her steadily for the past couple of years, on the ranch and in the arena. She has been started slow and right. Not only is she easy on the eyes, but she is also broke in the shoulder, hip and poll. She is a beautiful mover and knows her leads, is a big stopper and spins correctly. She is very cowy and loves to work in the cutting pen. I have also started her on the lead steer and the hot heels and she is a natural.

When it comes to working on the ranch, she can do it all: drag calves, sort, work the gate, drive cattle or rope an ornery cow in the pasture. She is an excellent ranch horse and will really move out when you have to take the outside circle.

Cholla has the ability, mind and foundation to excel in the performance world. Just pick a discipline and point her in the right direction! She is ready to bloom; head, heel, calf-rope, ranch rodeo, ranch riding or working cowhorse. She is sure to turn heads in and out of the arena with her looks and her athletic ability.

If the arena is not your dream and you're more into cruising the back roads, Cholla would be glad to put on the cruise control and check out the scenery. Raised in the rocky, mountain country in Hondo, NM, she is sure footed and will cross anything you ask her to. She is a pleasure to ride with her quiet mannerisms and smooth gait.
When it comes to attitude, you would never know Cholla is a mare. She has always been kept with my geldings and just acts like one of the boys. She shows no mare tendencies; never moody or sour. She will go out of her way to come tell you hello when you are out at the pens and loves to be brushed and bathed. She has excellent behavior for the shoer, hauls well and stands tied quietly. She stands 15.1hh and weight just at 1220 pounds.

She has been hauled moderately for the past year and has done exceptionally well. She drinks well, eats and stays mellow. When it comes to experience she is advanced for her age and has always been gentle and calm in any situation I have put her in.

She is young, beautiful and willing. Just point her and go; she will bring her whole heart!
