Once you meet Gizmo, odds are, you won't forget him! From his striking good looks, to his can-do attitude and endearing personality, this gelding is hands-down a barn favorite.
Gizmo is a dependable mount no matter what you're trying to accomplish, and he is always up to try something new! He's been ranched on in Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico; where he's drug calves, made big gathers, and doctored yearlings. He will go all day long, but is content to come back to you at a slower pace, anytime you ask. This gelding is sure footed in rough terrain and negotiates obstacles and water with ease.
If ranching isn't a necessity for you, Gizmo is a nice trail horse as well. He will easily go off without other horses, but does fine in a group too. He's not rattled by new things and will stay at the pace you ask of him. Gizmo has been trail ridden in the rugged Lincoln National Forrest land in NM and is always an enjoyable ride. He can be ridden english or western and has been over a few low crossrails. With a one-hand neck rein, soft face, and responsive sides, this smooth moving gelding is very user-friendly.
Although young, he's seen a lot in his life and has the mentality of an older horse. Gizmo has done a little of everything from tracking cattle in the arena, to packing our 4 year old daughter around the place. He is hobble broke. We have snubbed colts on him, ponied lots of young horses and also led our daughter's pony on him. Gizmo is patient, willing, and continually impresses us with his ambition to give what we are asking of him.
He stands 15.1 and weighs 1100. He can handle time off and come back as gentle on a cold day as he would on a hot one. Gizmo will step over to the fence or a bucket for you to easily get on and is just happy to be the chosen mount that day. Very easy to catch, shoe, haul, bathe, and most of all, LOVE ON!
