2018 QH Mare
14.1 HH
Lorrie is one of the coolest little mares we’ve had. This has been Saylor’s personal go-to horse for years —she’s the one she grabs when she goes to work with her dad, to ship and sort on, the first one we take to the horse show, the jr rodeo, or even a trail ride to the river. Shes the horse we put company and family members on, shes the sure shot, the steady eddy, the one you absolutely count on when it matters most.
Lorrie has a huge heart and an enormous personality. She will literally meet you at the gate every single day, ready for whatever you want to do. She will stand for hours to be brushed, loved on and she even double as a jungle gym. But seriously her manners are impeccable. She’s been taught to curbside mount, so she will side pass to any mounting block, fence, tree, or whatever’s handy for the kids to jump on and go for a joy ride bareback. Lorrie has flawless transitions up or down—I promise there isn’t one smoother. Her trot and lope just float and are so smooth anyone would love them. Lorrie has a great stop, side pass, and has cute spins. She’s packed all ages of kiddos along to rope the sled, breakaway calves, and steer stop the steers. We have even used it to help Horse on the heel side. Plus she’s spent many days outside doctoring cattle.
Lorrie has seen it all she’s been hauled along to the JR rodeos to push calves. Shes also been used in the goat tying the barrels, breakaway and the poles although she’s not finished in those events she’s so broke and willing you’d never know it. She’s also been the horse we have loaned to our nieces to get their start going through the barrels, flags, goats, and poles. She always knows exactly what level of rider is on her back and adapts to them—it’s truly special to see.
Lorrie has also been horse showed extensively—everything from the walk-trot classes to reining, trail, boxing, and even English classes. She’s a super versatile little lady that truly has our family’s whole heart.
Lorrie has also packed our youngest, Townes, around the Palo Duro Canyons and the Canadian River. She crosses all the water and rocky terrain with ease and is extremely careful with her footfall. She has spent many afternoons babysitting Townes while his older brother rides his dirt bikes all around her.
Saylor has even cruised Lorrie around English and taken her over some little jumps. She’s shown her in some classes at our local show and they had so much fun! The word “NO” just isn’t in Lorrie’s vocabulary!
Lorrie fits every single person from 1 year to 81 years. She’s FUN and SAFE and one of the more PURE horses you will ever find.
We would love to invite you out to meet this wonderful mare you are sure to fall in love at first sight!
