2019 AQHA Gelding

15 HH

Bex is by Hollywood Dun It and has had extensive reining training. He has been shown, raised, and trained locally. We are his second owner. He doesn’t have a hair out of place, is sound, and is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Bex is the kind of horse that truly makes you excited to walk out to the barn every day. He is the same trained horse no matter how long he sits idle—always gentle and always ready to go. He absolutely LOVES attention and thinks he’s a big puppy dog, always in your back pocket.

Bex is very talented and has every fancy button you could ever need, but he is also extremely easygoing and enjoys going on trail rides. He is very smooth in every gait and just floats across the ground. This gelding is a high-end ranch rider who will absolutely get you noticed by the judges with his good looks and beautiful movement. Bex has flawless body control and could easily cross over into western dressage as well.

He has been ridden through the woods, crosses water, wooden bridges, railroad tracks, and is traffic safe. He is used to cats, dogs, and even two wild toddlers! Bex has great ground manners, will ground tie to saddle if you wish, and is excellent with all desensitizing objects—flags, roping the hot heels, etc. If you can sit in the saddle and hold the reins, you can ride him! He is soft and responsive, yet not overly sensitive, making him suitable for green riders as well.

Bex is issue-free, requires zero maintenance, and has no blemishes. He has straight, correct conformation, a good level top line, and great feet. He is up to date on all vaccinations, dental work, farrier care, coggins, and a pre-purchase exam including radiographs. He does have a couple of bottom front teeth missing from a pasture injury, but it does not affect him in any way. 5 panel N/N.

We welcome serious buyers to our ranch in Holland, Iowa, to meet and ride him prior to the auction. Nationwide shipping is available. This is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of gelding that we are proud to own, and we hope to find him his forever home.

NRBC enrolled and holds an NRHA competition license.

Bex’s sire, Hollywood Dun It (Dunskin, 88% foundation), NRHA LTE: $65,808.84, is the 2nd all-time leading sire in National Reining Horse history. Hollywood Dun It has broken multiple NRHA siring records, with total offspring earnings of $5,438,583.80.

Riley Schmitt

Riley was raised in southeastern Minnesota in a horse-centered family, where her passion for the industry developed at an early age. She began her career training and selling colts and ponies, advancing through dedication, perseverance, and a strong work ethic. From the start, she recognized that lasting success is built on hard work and commitment, not shortcuts.

Her experience spans a diverse range of disciplines, including roping, cutting, reining, barrel racing, and ranch riding. Most notably, she was honored as the 2025 American Quarter Horse Association (Iowa) Amateur Level 2 Exhibitor of the Year, in addition to earning numerous points and buckles in ranch classes over the years. This versatility has shaped her into a well-rounded horsewoman and directly influences the quality, consistency, and adaptability of the horses she produces through her training program. Riley is deeply committed to both her horses and her clients, dedicating her full effort to every horse and every interaction.

Riley, alongside her husband Kyle and their sons Clayton and Ryder, proudly represents the Schmitt Horse Ranch brand. Together, they have established a reputation for offering exceptional geldings that combine eye appeal with gentle dispositions, solid training, and true versatility.

Their philosophy has remained consistent from the beginning: not every horse is the right fit for every rider. Their priority is to carefully match each customer with a horse that aligns with their individual needs and goals. Through a selective process and high standards, every horse is carefully chosen to meet those expectations.
