Meet Wilson – if you’re looking for flashy and safe riding partner that has done it all, you can’t beat this gelding!

This gelding is my go-to to get the job done – ponying colts, brandings, move cattle, or mountain riding, he is the perfect fit. Additionally, Wilson has the kindest personality – quiet and sweet, easy to catch and loves getting pampered with attention. He is a “go with the flow” type of guy, bringing a quiet energy to every task, and always willing to put in a good days work.

Wilson is a tall athletic horse with a huge stride – if you need to cover ground, you can count on Wilson to make it happen. Wilson shines in the arena as well! He’ll nicely collect, stop off your seat, and neck reins easily. Wilson is responsive to cues including move off the forehand, move off the haunches and side -passing.  

If you need to get ranch work done, Wilson won’t let you down, having put it in many miles out at the ranch. He has been used to treat cattle in the pasture, sort in a pen, at brandings, and completed long days of cattle drives – he’s even helped teach riders how to rope.

Wilson has seen lots of trail and mountain miles– climbing steep alpine trails, crossing rivers, covering difficult terrain, both riding in a group or solo, and even ridden bareback. He rides out from the farm alone without missing a beat, and is well accustomed to being loaded down with saddle bags, having dogs tag along for the ride, or being passed by vehicles on the road. 

He has also completed obstacle challenges, confidently walking over tarps, teeter-totters and suspension bridges.

Wilson is the unflappable quiet gelding everyone dreams of – he takes in new scenarios all in stride, having been hauled extensively and always willing to give the new task his rider asks a try.  No matter the chaos of the day, Wilson stays calm, quiet and focused on his job.  Even with time off, pull Wilson out of the pasture and hop on for a ride, and he is the same horse you turned out.
