Laredo has been extensively trail-ridden and ranched on, as well as shown in some ranch horse classes. A wide variety of ranch work, has made him reliable and versatile in diverse environments. His experience on the ranch has shaped him into a dependable partner for any type of work you might need. Laredo is naturally very cowwy and athletic you’ll love to use him to gather and sort cattle. He reads a cow well and is extremely gritty. He is fun to work cattle on in any type of situation in the arena sorting pens, or out on the ranch. We have ridden him in big ranch country, shown him in some ranch riding and trail events and he’s roped the sled and some breakaway calves. His experience hasn’t only been on the ranch he’s had plenty of arena time as well. Laredo side passes easily, has some beautiful spins, nice lope departures and a good whoa. His gaits are easy and smooth with great transitions and an easy one handed neck rein.
Out on the ranch, road, trails, or town, Laredo rides quietly, with an alert and attentive walk, and is good with busy traffic, motorcycles, strollers, wagons, and crowds. Great crossing bridges, streams, rocks or any rough terrain. He is good with tarps and obstacles, dragging logs, crazy dogs, loud noises, has a carried a flag and easy to open gates on. Laredo has been trail ridden in the black hills, and has gone out alone or in a group. He has been out on overnight camping trips and ponied kiddos along behind. He loves being groomed, bathed, great for the farrier, trailers like a champ and has a playful demeanor you’ll enjoy.

Sarah Moreland of S Lazy M Ranch in western SD has always had a passion for training horses. She started training horses for the public at 15 yrs old and her husband Seth and children Sterling and Cedar still train horses and ranch in Red Owl, SD.
"I grew up on horseback since I was a little girl and still live, love and breathe horses every day. We love starting colts, making good solid performance horses and our ranch is a great place to get that solid foundation that every horse needs. Spring ranch work with all the branding is a highlight along with all the summer and fall cattle work. I love all that the ranch provides for these horses but training time in the arena and taking them to town is important too. I enjoy showing cow horse and AQHA Ranch Versatility as well as training and running barrel horses. I love breakaway roping as well.
My passion is to train and provide well rounded, gentle, solid, quality performance horses that anyone can go on with and enjoy. We all have a part in making these horses, including our young children who provide lots of desensitizing at this point, and I'm blessed to get to call this my job and to raise our children in this lifestyle, doing what we love."
