"Maxi" has a huge personality and demands attention, not only is he stunning to look at he is incredibly smart inquisitive and loves to be playful with his paddock mates.
Maxi is exceptionally well trained in the arena with a smooth, fluid way of traveling. He glides around, floats at the trot, neck reins easily, stays soft in the bridle and has correct balanced lead departures. He executes beautiful lead changes with ease and is very soft to leg cues and will side pass and back up with fluidity. He has a nice correct spin and will drop his hocks in the dirt when asked to stop. Maxi excels in Ranch Riding, Ranch Rail and Ranch Trail. He has also been very successful competing in the NVRHA and proves how versatile he is as a cow horse. He has limited experience with cattle, but he definitely shows a ton of potential and has the ability and desire to hold one.
ACHIEVMENTS: He had a very successful 2025 show season, consistently placing first and second in Ranch Trail and Ranch riding. Maxi consistently plusses his maneuver scores and earned 3 AQHA performances points in 2025.
He was the National Versatility Ranch Horse Association ( NVRHA) Limited open Champion 2025.
Maxi has a very laid-back personality and would be best suited for a non pro or youth. All though he is talented he would prefer to go low and slow.
If you have no interest in the show pen, no problem!!! Maxi loves a leisurely trail ride. He is very confident and content riding out alone but of course it's always more fun to go with buddies. If life gets super busy, no worries, Maxi rides the same whether you ride him every day or he has several weeks off, go catch him with a halter and jump on bareback he will gladly ride around with or without a saddle and he can also go bridleless, he is the one that I can feel comfortable putting that relative on that has never ridden before and I trust him to safely pack my grandkids around.
Selling this horse may be one of the biggest regrets of my life but I know that someone else deserves the opportunity to own such an exceptional horse.

"Hi" My name is Kim Lance and I am the owner operator of Westwind Equestrian, a boarding and teaching barn located in Casper Wyoming. I specialize in problem solving horse behaviors and helping people understand how to better communicate with their horses to achieve a better partnership. I also train and compete on personal and client horses, competing and hosting Extreme trail challenges, Western and English clinics and events. God has blessed me with a fabulous husband of 30 years and we have 3 sons, 2 amazing daughters in laws and 5 grandchildren. In my spare time, "Ha Ha" I like watching a good movie, spending time with family, having dinner with a good friend or reading a book.
