2021 AQHA Gelding
14.3 HH
Full of personality, loaded with talent, and just plain fun to have around, Max is the kind that makes your dreams come true. I bought him as a 2-year-old, and he’s been one of my personal horses ever since. Every step of his training has been done right, never rushed, never skipped.
Max has earned right at $2,000 in NRHA reining and has also been shown in AQHA reining, earning 6 points. He’s sired by the one and only Spooks Gotta Whiz, the hottest sire in the reining industry with offspring earnings exceeding $13 million, and that also makes Max Riata Buckle eligible. I
n the arena, Max is a total standout measuring 14.3 hands sporting his striking blue eyes, bold bald face, and silver tail. He’s got the full reining package, dynamic spins, effortless lead changes, flawless circles, and a big, powerful stop. His transitions are smooth and precise, and he’s incredibly user-friendly to ride. Whether you’re looking to keep showing in reining, step into ranch riding, or versatility events, Max is ready to shine.
Outside the arena, Max is a rock star. I’ve worked cattle and lightly roped on him, and he handles it all with confidence. He’s sure-footed, brave, and one of the most reliable trail partners you could ask for. I’ve ridden him all winter through our busy tourist town, banners, loud music, traffic, motorcycles, you name it nothing fazes him.
He’s steady in any situation and settles right in wherever you haul him. Max glides through rough, rocky terrain like a mountain goat, navigates easily around prickly cactus and absolutely loves water. He will be your rock-solid partner who truly enjoys the great outdoors and soak in the scenery. He has the endurance to go all day too!
Max is one of the smoothest and most comfortable horses I have ridden. He’s got a jog you can sit all day and can lope in the palm of your hand. He rides western, English, and bareback. He willingly goes over jumps and has mastered all the arena trail obstacles including poles, the bridge, and the drag.
With a kind eye and a gentle soul, he’s the horse that wants to be part of everything you’re doing. He enjoys the quieter moments just as much as the adventures, grooming sessions, scratches, and simply standing by your side. He bonds deeply with his person and is always ready for attention, making him not only a joy to ride, but a true companion to spend time with. He will be the first one to knicker at you when you walk into the barn.
Max is balanced, cadenced, and always gentle, he doesn’t need to be ridden every day to stay broke. He’s trained and he stays that way. If you’re looking for a horse that checks every box for talent, looks, disposition, and heart, Max is the one. He’s been very loved in our barn and will be a hard one to part with.
