2017 AQHA Gelding
15 HH
Alvin is a golden example of what everyone hopes to find — a true gentleman gelding with the looks, brains, and disposition that make him a barn favorite. His golden coat glows in the sunlight, paired with a soft, kind eye that perfectly reflects his gentle nature. Alvin is the steady, easygoing type that makes every ride a good one. He’s quiet, confident, and exceptionally mannered — the kind you can always count on to be the same horse every single day.
We’ve used Alvin for every aspect of ranch work — from branding and sorting to shipping and gathering cattle — and he’s always proven himself to be steady, willing, and reliable. Nothing fazes him; he’s the definition of “Steady Eddie.”
Whether you use him once a week or once a year, Alvin saddles up gentle, rides off quiet, and gets straight to work. He’s seen long days, new places, and plenty of real-world miles, all with a calm and willing attitude that makes him a joy to be around.
In the arena, Alvin shows his broke, reined foundation. He lopes soft, collected circles, rides off your seat and legs, and has a correct, stylish turnaround. His handle, rhythm, and cadence make him an ideal candidate for Ranch Versatility and Ranch Trail events. We’ve also used him as a turnback horse at cuttings and in Ranch Versatility shows, where he’s always composed, responsive, and easy to guide. Alvin’s training and temperament make him suitable for any level of rider looking for a horse that’s truly trustworthy.
Outside the arena, Alvin is just as solid. He’s been ridden extensively outside and takes every new obstacle or environment in stride. He’s safe, dependable, and sure-footed, whether he’s crossing water, navigating uneven terrain, or heading out alone. Alvin is the type of gelding that adds peace of mind to every ride — quiet, confident, and gentle enough for anyone. He’s the kind that’s hard to find and impossible to replace.

Based out of Nevis, Minnesota, and spending winters in Arizona, The Thorson Family of Triple T Livestock is a true family-run program built on horsemanship, hard work, and heart. Together, Colton and Alise Thorson, along with their daughter Denim train, and market high-quality horses that are the kind you can trust and be proud to own.
The Thorson family actively competes in team roping, breakaway roping, ranch horse versatility events, and they regularly use their horses for ranch work such as branding, gathering, and doctoring cattle. Every horse in their program is expected to be versatile, dependable, and gentle enough for the whole family to enjoy.
At Triple T Livestock, each horse’s training is built on a solid reining foundation, emphasizing softness, body control, and willingness. Their goal is to produce horses that are as broke and talented as they are kind and consistent — the kind you can ride anywhere, for anything.
Whether it’s in the show pen, down the trail, or out working cattle, the Thorson family takes pride in offering horses that reflect their values: honest, hardworking, and family-friendly.
