2019 Black Gelding

15.2 HH

Hubba Hubba! What a HUNK! It’s the one and only “Jelly Roll!”

I know what you’re thinking, is he named after the pastry or the singer… That’s up to you to decide! He has all the sweetness of the pastry and is authentic like the artist, never trying to be anything he isn’t. What he is is more than enough! He can do anything you can possibly want to do with a horse.

RIDE or DRIVE, take your pick! Jelly Roll is used to wearing many hats in a day. From morning ranch chores to an afternoon riding lesson for a beginner, to a carriage ride in the evening, Jelly Roll has everything covered!

You can go on trails, go show, jump, ride western, english, bareback, double, bridleless or with the dog aboard, above all, Jelly Roll is SAFE! He can even lay down, say yes, say no, and count, yep it’s true.

He has the perfect balance of a cross bred - a gentle giant vibe, with quarter horse maneuverability. I could watch him move for days! So level, so collected, SO FLUID! His transitions are effortless, he’s smooth, he’s always steady and ready to slow down whenever you are.

You can cross rushing water, go up and down steep ditches, climb the mountain side or go through the timber, it won’t matter, Jelly Roll adjusts automatically! If you need a horse for your friend to ride, he’ll take care of them without hesitation.

He has been trusted in rough, steep country with inexperienced riders(one of them being my non-horsey brother-in-law), and never fails to take care of them. And he takes care of me in the branding pen! His calm, nonchalant demeanor helps me keep my heart rate in a normal range! No matter who’s on his back, they’re smiling and at ease!

Throw your rope on the ground and Jelly Roll will stand for shoeing, bathing, clipping or pampering as long as you want. Everything with him is easy, loading, hauling, new places, obstacles; you name it and he is happy to go along and get along!

Loud gunfire, bullwhips, bicycles, scooters, hoverboards, 4 wheelers, golf carts, dogs, wildlife, tarps, balls, you name it-he’s seen it. Everyone who handles him can tell what a good citizen he is, they also appreciate his ground manners and kind nature.

One look into his big brown eyes and you’ll understand why Jelly Roll has stuck around our house for a couple years! Don’t be surprised if all your friends fall head over heels for him! Everyone who meets him does! That sleek and shiny black coat is hard to ignore!

Teagan & Megan Profile Picture

A lifelong dedication to building reliable, family-friendly horses has been a driving force for Megan, and this tradition is now being carried on by her daughter, Teagan. Their sincere connections with both their horses and their customers are evident in everything they do.

Megan’s love for horses began at just three years old and has shaped her entire life. Megan and her husband, Andy, are excited to see their children, Wyatt (12) and Teagan (10), share the same passion for horses. Together, the family owns and operates Hansen Performance Horses, where they focus on  training well-rounded horses. Their horses are exposed to a variety of disciplines, from team roping to trail riding, ranching, and even jumping. It’s also common for them to compete at ranch horse shows, where Teagan proudly won her first buckle!

Megan and Teagan are both committed to understanding each horse's unique strengths and personality. Through individualized training, they ensure that every horse is represented honestly and matched with the right person.
