2014 AQHA Gelding
15.1 HH
A timeless buckskin that brings together heart, intelligence, and performance, making him a standout asset for anyone looking for a versatile horse that’s as safe as he is talented. Prescott, as we affectionately call him, is the whole package, a trusted friend on the trails, a great partner in the team roping, and hardworking hand around the ranch.
Prescott is the type of horse you can trust with your non-horsey husband, kids, or city friends that know nothing about a horse. He is as honest as the day is long and is the definition of a dependable trail horse. Sure-footed, confident, and easygoing, he handles every mile with grace whether it’s steep hills, water crossings, rocky ground, or wide-open country. He’s seen the sights, been down the trail, and knows how to take care of his rider every step of the way.
Prescott rides out alone or in a group, stays calm in new places, and doesn’t get rattled by city chaos, busy traffic, loud music, blowing tarps, crazy dogs, or wildlife. With a smooth gait and a willing disposition, he’s the kind that makes every ride feel like a Sunday stroll. He’s a quiet companion for weekend adventures or a seasoned mount for serious trail miles, this buckskin boy is as solid as they come. His steady temperament makes him perfect for riders of all levels, offering peace of mind on every ride.
Prescott is a finished team roping horse (heading) that knows his job in the arena and does it well. He scores like a rock, leaves flat, runs strong to the hip, and gives you a consistent shot every time. He is quick across the line and rates off cattle naturally. He has been hauled to a ton of jackpots and rides the same as a Friday practice at the house. Solid, easy and consistent. He is quiet in the box. No nonsense, no drama just a true professional with the grit and try to take you to the pay window.
Outside the arena, Prescott is just as handy. He’s been used on the ranch and knows about a days work. He’s a true ranch horse that knows his job and gets it done right. He has been used for all aspects of ranch work from gathering, sorting, doctoring, branding, and checking fences. He’s seen big country, rough terrain, and long days, and he handles every task with a willing attitude and good mind. Whether you’re working cattle or covering miles of pasture, he stays quiet, focused, and steady under pressure. He’s the kind that doesn’t spook at chaos, knows how to read a cow, and has the heart to go all day.
You will enjoy him if you have to saddle in the dark and ride until sunset. Prescott is always safe and gentle even with substantial time off. He doesn’t require daily or weekly riding. When you have time, saddle him up and go without a care in the world. He’s quiet and easy to handle on the ground and always easy to catch.
Prescott’s sire carries the legendary King Ranch bloodlines known for producing horses with true cowboy substance, quiet minds, strong bone, and the kind of durability that stands the test of time. These horses were bred to work all day, stay level-headed under pressure, and handle any job with confidence and heart in the performance arena and out on the ranch.
From the arena to the mountains and everywhere in between, Prescott has proven himself time and again. He’s the horse you can be proud to own, trust to keep you safe, and count on to make memories that last a lifetime.
