2019 Draft Cross Gelding

15.2 HH

The powerhouse combination of class and athleticism!
This magnificent Percheron/ Quarter Horse gelding brings it all to the table with brains and beauty! You won’t find a more handsome and versatile draft cross with the experience and miles that this guy has under his saddle!
Mongo is a seasoned ranch and rope horse who is well acquainted with the chaos and commotion of cowboy life and handles it with poise and patience. Purchased as a 2yo he has been raised with love, consistency, and fairness. I can confidently vouch for his exemplary manners both on the ground and in the saddle giving credit to his stellar training you can be sure there are no skeletons in his closet! Currently participating in fall works at the famous 6666’s ranch and has a mile long resume of numerous historical ranches and rodeos he has visited. Spending the majority of his life on the rodeo road as a trusted pickup horse, Mongo is accustomed to hopping on a trailer with absolutely no idea where it may take him next all while keeping his calm, cool & collected demeanor. He is expected to remain quiet and confident in all circumstances and does an outstanding job of keeping cowboys out of harms way. Unfazed by equipment, traffic, flashing lights, screaming crowds, loud music, machinery, dogs weaving in and around his legs, as well as small children. No stranger to all types of terrain and obstacles and has seen the sun come up in more states than most people travel to in a lifetime! This guy has been through mud, raging rivers, deep sand, slippery rock, thick brush, wide open plains.. you name it he’s seen it! Simple and easy to operate for even the smallest riders, Mongo is a true gentleman for both novice and professionals and anywhere in between! He has a giant soft spot for kids and takes great pride in his famous pony rides and gentle laps with small passengers.
He is so unbelievably kind and willing to do any job you ask of him. Quiet and steady for beginners as well as being extremely forgiving of greener riders who may sometimes accidentally hit the wrong buttons! Soft in the bridle, moves off leg, and responsive to your seat making him an effortless and enjoyable ride in any discipline. As brawny and brave as he is on the ranch he cleans up mighty well under english tack too!! This guy will blow you away with his moves under a dressage saddle and is just bursting with potential to go show or enjoy at home! Has schooled and shown locally in both dressage and cross country. Has been on numerous hunter paces and is a delight to jump! Oh.. and did I mention he also drives!!! As steady and easy of a Sunday stroll as you please!
Stands like a statue to groom, bathe, clip, shoe, saddle and mount. Comes right to you in the pasture and enjoys the comforts of being stalled as well. The same horse whether he’s being ridden daily or after being turned out for extended periods of time. No nonsense, no vices, no quirks, no maintenance, and no history of lameness or previous injuries. Not a blemish on him nor a hair out of place!
