2020 AQHA Gelding

14.2 HH

I’ve never really been into Barbies, but if I was, Cheeseball would be their model horse! After all, he’s a WORLD CHAMPION — and just as beautiful as he is accomplished!

That’s right, he has the hardware to prove it: a big, shiny trophy for winning the Amateur Select Working Ranch Rail at the 2024 Palomino World Championship Show with his first owner, who also bred and raised him. Not only that but my brother and I shared him this past summer at a ranch horse show and we both won a belt buckle on him. One weekend, one Cheeseball, two kids, two belt buckles — you get the picture!

Judges can’t ignore his flawless conformation or his effortless movement. He’s been shown by riders from ages 10 to 60+, proving just how solid and easy he is to operate. Take him into any of the ranch classes, go in reining, or even English — I showed him in Equitation and Pleasure, and he loved it!

He’s triple registered with AQHA, APHA and PHBA, plus he has his NRHA license — versatility and quality wrapped into one golden package. We are proud to be only his second owners, which says a lot about the kind of horse he is: one that stays loved and valued wherever he goes.

With the SMOOTHEST trot and lope of any horse we own, Cheeseball is always my top pick when it’s time to ride. He’s my favorite horse to go bareback on — not just because of his smooth gaits, but because he feels like a soft pillow under you. He’s beefy but not too wide, and just plain comfortable.

Showing isn’t your thing? Cheeseball shines outside the arena too. He’s great on trails — stepping over logs, crossing creeks, and navigating steep hills with care and precision. He enjoys checking cows, moving pairs, and even popping over a downed tree when the mood strikes. He’s stylish, classy, and impossible not to notice.

Mom says he has more “whoa than go,” and I’d agree. He goes when you ask, and never any faster. His calm nature makes him a breeze to braid, clip, bathe, shoe, deworm, and load — and he’s usually the first one to meet you in the pen.

If daily riding isn’t in your current routine, Cheeseball is perfectly fine with that. He’s easy to leave off and climb back on without missing a beat. There’s absolutely no nonsense with him — being silly would just take too much energy!

If I must say so myself, Cheeseball is a SALE HIGHLIGHT. His looks alone are captivating, and once you swing a leg over him, you’ll understand why riding him feels like a dream.

Megan Profile

A lifelong dedication to building reliable, family-friendly horses has been a driving force for Megan, and this tradition is now being carried on by her daughter, Teagan. Their sincere connections with both their horses and their customers are evident in everything they do.

Megan’s love for horses began at just three years old and has shaped her entire life. Megan and her husband, Andy, are excited to see their children, Wyatt (12) and Teagan (10), share the same passion for horses. Together, the family owns and operates Hansen Performance Horses, where they focus on  training well-rounded horses. Their horses are exposed to a variety of disciplines, from team roping to trail riding, ranching, and even jumping. It’s also common for them to compete at ranch horse shows, where Teagan proudly won her first buckle!

Megan and Teagan are both committed to understanding each horse's unique strengths and personality. Through individualized training, they ensure that every horse is represented honestly and matched with the right person.
