Benny

2018 Gelding

14 HH

Benny was born and raised in Canada’s ranching and farming heartland. He had excellent upbringing and training which exposed him to many experiences and resulted in a very well rounded and versatile horse. He is an irreplaceable partner for all the ranch tasks - moving cattle, sorting, doctoring, branding, shooting varmints, you name it. He is a gentleman on the job - no spook, no worries, no fuss. Through mud bogs and down gravel roads, on cattle drives, and trips to the mountains, Benny is sure footed, steady, and confident. He’s not bothered by traffic or machinery and can safely be ridden in those circumstances that can make many other horses uncomfortable. He stays broke no matter how often you ride and he is there when you need him, whether it’s a ride for pleasure or a full day of work on the ranch. He is safe, responsive and very well broke. He is perfect to ride out alone or with others and is also harness broke to drive single!

Benny has a solid foundation in the arena. He stops, spins, changes leads, and understands leg aids well. He’s happy to do arena work and is very handy on a cow. He is light to the aids and could easily be enjoyed in events like team sorting, penning, gymkhana, working equitation, or cowboy challenge.

Benny’s gentle, unflappable disposition also makes him the mount of choice when it comes time to teach the next generation to ride. He happily wears english tack and jumps around the ring, tolerating the young rider’s mistakes and helping them gain confidence in the saddle. He's been ridden bareback, backwards, double, in a halter, or with a neck rope. He is a perfect mount for a young rider to grow up with, whether they wants to ride for ribbons or ride for adventures on the ranch. He is affectionate but has good manners and is gentle with little ones.

Benny has been a very healthy and sound horse. He’s built solid, strong, and straight, with well balanced feet. He easily finds his place if living in a group of horses and is social without causing trouble. He is never herd bound and can be separated easily at any time.

Having had Benny in my program, I truly feel proud to be offering him at Cowgirl Cadillacs. He is a phenomenal little horse, one of my favourites, and will be greatly missed. Though I know he will make someone very happy and will be the best partner for many years to come. He's a perfect match for the ladies and daughters who want that special horse of their own.
He is a girl’s best friend, cute as a button, and trustworthy adventure partner. Load him up and head off to chase your dreams

Anna

Anna paved her own way into the horse industry. Though she was born into an urban family, she always knew she wanted to train horses. Her passion became reality through relentless dedication, hard work, and talent. Anna attributes much of her success to the many outstanding mentors and coaches who have helped her along the way.

“Living in picturesque Calgary, Alberta there are endless opportunities here in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We have some of the biggest ranches and horse operations in Canada. We have miles of trails in our backyard. It really is an excellent place to be a trainer and to be able to give horses a versatile education”

Today, Anna has been operating her performance horse training and coaching business for over 15 years. She has worked with top-end cutters, cow-horses, working equitation horses, and jumpers, to name a few. Her business includes starting colts as well as training and showing performance horses. Over the years she has enjoyed much success in competitions and shows, both in Canada and the USA. Coaching all over Canada is also a big part of Anna’s life. She hopes to help people and horses through passing on the knowledge that she’s been fortunate to obtain through her experiences.

Anna has never felt the need to pick one discipline. She firmly believes that her biggest strength is her versatility and open mindedness. She strives to create well rounded, safe, educated, and useful horses and to help people understand and enjoy horses as much as she does.
