Avenger

2020 Gelding

15 HH

Meet Avenger – the gentle giant with a heart of gold. With his impressive size, athletic build, and warm, willing personality, Avenger is the complete package. If you're searching for a dependable partner with a calm presence and a steady mind, look no further—Avenger is your guy.

Avenger’s laid-back nature makes him an ideal match for riders who enjoy taking it slow and steady. His smooth, balanced lope builds confidence in beginners, while his sure-footedness and trail experience make him equally appealing to seasoned riders. Whether you’re navigating steep inclines, crossing water, or simply enjoying a quiet trail ride, Avenger handles it all with patience and poise. He’s confident riding alone or with others and is just as content leading, following, or riding in the middle of the pack.

This seasoned gelding has been exposed to it all: heavy traffic, city streets, large crowds, bridges, deadfall, water crossings, cattle, dogs, tarps, stock whips, flags, gunfire, and more. Nothing seems to rattle him.

Avenger is well-trained and has a solid foundation in light reining. He neck reins, stops off your seat, spins, collects, knows his leads, performs simple lead changes, side-passes, and offers excellent shoulder and hip control. He also opens and closes gates, carries a flag, drags objects, and has had a gun fired off him. He competed and placed in a couple of Ranch Versatility shows last year and continues to show promise in that arena.

One of his proudest moments? Carrying a rider who had lost their confidence through the Pony Express Reenactment Ride—loping for miles on asphalt in the dark and finishing strong down Murray Main Street to pass off the mailbag.

He recently attended a mounted shooting practice for the first time and was loping under gunfire by the end of the evening. He’s also been on an overnight pack trip where he ponied, was hobbled, and high-lined like a pro.

With excellent ground manners and a personality that draws people in, Avenger is a true joy to be around. He stands quietly for mounting, will step over to a fence to help you climb on, and lowers his head for easy haltering and bridling. He genuinely wants to please and always gives his best effort. Easy to haul, ties quietly all day, and is a gentleman for the farrier—he’s just as easy to manage on the ground as he is under saddle.

If you’re looking for a calm, experienced, and kind-hearted horse to join your family, Avenger could be your perfect match. Don’t miss the opportunity to bring this one-of-a-kind partner home!

My horsemanship journey led me to Clinton Anderson’s program in 2016. In 2019, I graduated from his Academy in Stephenville, TX, and with this certification, I’ve had the opportunity to host numerous clinics and work with a wide variety of client horses. I continue furthering my education at his ranch each year to deepen my skills and stay current with the latest horsemanship techniques.

Since then, I’ve gained extensive experience working with horses of diverse breeds, ages, and temperaments, significantly advancing my horsemanship skills. Recently, I’ve started exploring Ranch Versatility, focusing on training my own horses to excel in this discipline.
